Founded in 1985 the ADA promotes the growth of intercollegiate policy debate through the organizing of rules and tournaments through member schools. National Debate Tournament (NDT)
The National Debate Tournament is a highly selective, varsity only, end of the year tournament. Receiving an invitation to this tournament is one of the main goals of every Varsity team, winning this tournament is the highest honor that any debate team can achieve. The NDT, in association with CEDA, selects the resolution to be debated on for the coming year. One of the Dearborn Debate teams goals at the start of every debate season is to send at least one (if not all varsity teams) to the NDT.
